Interior Detailing Tips: How to Keep Your Car's Interior Looking New

Your vehicle's interior is where you spend the most time — yet it's often the most neglected aspect of car care.

Start with a Deep Declutter

Before any cleaning begins, remove everything from the car: floor mats, seat organizers, personal items, trash.

Vacuuming: The Foundation

Always work top to bottom:

  1. Headliner — Use a soft brush attachment
  2. Dashboard and console — Use crevice tool for vents
  3. Seats — Work into seams
  4. Door panels — Don't forget door pockets
  5. Carpets — Use stiff brush to agitate fibres first

Dashboard & Hard Surfaces

  1. Spray pH-neutral interior cleaner on a microfibre cloth
  2. Wipe from the top of the dash toward you
  3. Use a detailing brush for crevices

Leather Care

  • Cleaning: Use a dedicated leather cleaner
  • Conditioning: Apply a leather conditioner after every clean

Condition leather every 3–4 months minimum.

Odour Elimination

What works:

  1. Source removal
  2. Baking soda on carpets and seats
  3. Ozone treatment (available at Dr Carcare)
  4. Enzymatic cleaners for organic odours
